So what happens when you run out of your warm market?
By admin | August 4, 2007
Kevin Smith writes an interesting post which I saw on “mlmstuff” which discusses the problem that arises quickly in the MLM world … What happens when you run out of your “warm market”? What does this mean? Well, once you have talked to all of your family, friends, and relatives, how do you find more people to approach about your product or opportunity?
Mr. Smith suggest that there are four principles you need to master to advance your MLM marketing and your business in general.
An excerpt of his comments are shown below:
1.Target your market for the products your MLM offers. Setting your
product in the market place allows for you to identify your customer
base. This allows you to evaluate the value of your product to your
eventual customers.
2.To this target market, it is important to send the correct message to
them. This is a message about your product or service that solves the
problems and needs of your customers.
3.Make the decision to purchase your product or service by the customer
less difficult. This can be done by highlighting the positive points of
fast shipping/delivery, follow up and support calls if needed.
4.Delivery of your prospecting messages has to be on your target
market’s timetable. It must be delivered at just the right time.

Tips to Success in Your Network Marketing Business
By admin | July 29, 2007
In a brief but informative article written by Mitchell Cator, the author touches on several tips that help you to succeed in your network marketing business. To summarize, Mitch states that the most important tip is finding the “right company”. Join a company whose products interest and excites you and which has sound credentials. You don’t want to work hard only to find that the company has run off with your checks. You should feel proud to be associated with that company or else you will lack the confidence which is an essential tool of any network marketer.
Second, it is important to check out your upline. These folks should be experienced and enthusiatic about working with you to develop your team.
Of course, another critcal element is the compensation structure … choose a company with an excellent compensation plan.
Read more of Mitch’s tips in this article.

MLMer Beware - World Financial Group Scam Reported
By admin | July 24, 2007
One of the most important steps a potential Network Marketer or MLM participant can do is check out the prospective company they are thinking of representing. In an earlier post, I commented on the how important the web is becoming as an aid in the evaluation of a potential opportunity. Scam reports and ticked off people telling their stories are abundant if only you take the time to sniff around before jumping at the next best thing. Put the greed glands in check for a moment and ask around or search the web. A great example is the story as reported on the site Scamtypes.com
While I have no personal experience with the company, were I a prospective representative or customer, this kind of story would certainly arouse my interest.
Here is a snippet of the story:
The World Financial Group is a multi level marketing (MLM) scheme. A
great many upset people across the internet say they go further than
that though and are, in fact, an illegal pyramid scheme in which new
members are recruited to line the pockets of the recruiters.
As a company, World Financial Group offers various financial
products, including annuities, mutual funds and variable life
insurance. Typically they pitch their products at the middle classes.
World Financial Group has to abide by guidelines set out by the
National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). To date they have
been fined many times and have had various other penalties imposed by
the NASD for multiple reasons including misrepresentation and
misconduct. Unbelievably, the NASD still allows the WFG scam to
continue despite the vast number of issues surrounding the company.

If this guy can accomplish such a feat … get off your butt and get to work!
By admin | July 23, 2007
I happened across this story while browsing some blogs. This was originally published in 2006. For all of you thinking about whining and making excuses about why you can’t do something, keep this guy in mind and get busy on moving towards your goals with a “can do” spirit.
Here is the story:
NZ Double Amputee Climbs Everest
Mr Inglis lost the lower part of both his legs to frostbite 24 years
ago, when trapped in a snow storm on New Zealand’s highest peak, Mount
Cook.
But he never lost his love for the mountains.
With the aid of a set of specially-adapted carbon fibre legs, he was
able to set himself for the biggest challenge in climbing, as he
explained just before setting out for Nepal.
“I think it’s every Kiwi kid’s dream isn’t it?” he said.
“Especially when you grew up as I did as a young mountaineer in New Zealand.
“Purely because I sucked at rugby, so it’s always been there and I thought I’d lost it forever when I lost my legs back in ‘82.”
He spoke briefly to his wife by phone from the summit last night before safely returning to base camp.

Is Web 2.0 driving Network Marketing to Morph Into MLM 2.0?
By admin | July 23, 2007
Todd Mintz had an interesting post (see post here) on the transformation taking place in the the Network Marketing world driven by the evolution of the web to “Web 2.0″. His premise is two-fold: 1) With access to information becoming prevalent every day, it is much easier to check out what people are saying about the prospective company or product; and, 2) rather than simply running through your list of friends, relatives, and neighbors to be you product purchasers and potential downline, you will likely rely more on “relationship” marketing through sites like Facebook, MySpace, etc.
To quote Todd:
“Marketing via MLM 2.0 will have none of the unsavory aspects of MLM 1.0. A
marketer will introduce their product to people with whom he/she
already has preexisting relationships, with the hope that the
recipients will think enough of it that they will share it with folks
in each of their social networks. People who value their standing
amongst their peers generally won´t recommend products they don´t
actually like for their integrity as a member of a trusted group goes
along with the recommendation. Ideally, if the product is well
received, it will go viral through a large number of diverse networks.
MLM 2.0 will be more efficient, much faster, more lucrative, and stigma-free.
Trusted, unbiased relationships will drive MLM 2.0 revenue and the
sales process will be much more comfortable for the marketer and the
prospect.
Also, Social Media will render greatly reduce the effectiveness of MLM 1.0 techniques. If a social network participant were to bring up the content of an MLM sales pitch in their group, fellow members will likely set them straight.“

The Tough Truth About MLM
By admin | July 17, 2007
As mentioned in my previous post, Kraig Ward has written another strong post in his blog about identifying for yourself, or your potential downline, whether or not MLM or Network Marketing is really suited to your personality. Alot of times, people are hyped to death and their greed glands are fully engaged with the prospect of making a gazillion dollars. Unfortunately, they may not fully appreciate how much work might be involved in being successful.
Here is a brief part of Kraig’s post …
Having helped countless network marketers, one of the hardest things that I
find myself having to tell people is that MLM. may not be the business
they should be involved with. Often times it has to do with the
mentality that people have when they choose a business program.
There are two primary reasons why people choose MLM or Network Marketing as a means of earning income:
1) Hype-
Unfortunately the model for nearly every MLM or Network Marketing
presentation is to show how easy it is to make millions of dollars by
making a list of your family and friends, then simply sharing the
product and opportunity with them.
2) Greed-
There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a great living doing what
you love and helping people in the process. However, we are often drawn
into these types of home based opportunities because of the “easy
money” or “lottery” appeal.
The fact is,building an MLM or networking business is real work, even when you have
the right tools. Despite what many amateur and novice net-workers
believe, millions are hardly ever made by those who just signed up at
the right time and believed they’d ride the wave to riches.
Before you choose to
get involved in any type of business, MLM, Network Marketing or
otherwise, take this brief overview to decide if you have what it takes
to make it in business:
